So my parents just bought some land with a nicely- stocked pond on it. any given Saturday people will just be out on our land [we dont have a house on it yet] fishing in OUR pond like its the community park! Haha, but anyways I went out with my uncles to fish on saturday and caught 3 crappy- and even kissed it! There is also bass and whatnot in the pond. anyways, we dont have rods and used our uncle's and so we really dont know what to buy. all I know is I want a rod to catch some more crappy and that I want to buy a complete kit that I don't have to assemble. so if you know of any good rod kits that would work for my situation please let me know what and where to buy! Thanks so much! [ALSO- spin casting or spinning what is the difference and which is simpler to do? ]

i use my zebco 202 I got it at walmart and Ive used it for a year and nothings went wrong with it…

Go with spin cast, here is a good combo that should be simple for you to maintain and cast
walmart.com/catalog/product.d…
You might want some lures for when you become a small more experienced. and you can have a look at plenty of different types here
cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa…
animatedknots.com/indexfishin…
All of the above knots will help you in some way and wont come un-done, you will need some line to place on the reel and this is worth the price since its in the sale too
walmart.com/catalog/product.d…
pleased fishing!

Like others have mentioned, Spin Cast would be your best way and Walmart will have the better prices. Link below will answer some more questions ya' might have ~ it goes into some more pointers for the begineer.
Excellent luck and "Crappie On"… < ' (( ( > <

Note: not only are them Crappie a blast ta' catch but, their fantastic on the dinner table ;)

angelfire.com/ia3/fishing/ind…

Update: Link for Walmart fishin' gear (have some pretty good prices on rod/reel combo's).

walmart.com/search/browse-ng.…

You don't need a heavy duty rod and reel to catch crappie. you can get either a light spinning rig or a spin cast. The spin caster is a small simpler to manage but the spinning reel isn't that much harder. you can buy either in a combo set at Wal-mart. look at the Zebco spin caster–it will run you about $15.

first you dont want a kit because alot of times it is a waste. if you are new to the sport i would go with a spincast it is simpler to use. you want to use a light action rod. a zebco 22 combo or you a zebco 33 combo. to catch those crappies you can use jigs or live baits. you can use minnows with a cork and a # 1 hook and jigs 1/16 oz lead heads and grubs colors chartuse , white, chartuse glitter, junebug/chartuse ,black/chartuse.

Spincasting is the best bet for beginners. Nowadays, there are some good ones out there such as the Zebco 33.

Spinning reels are for more experienced anglers.

you sound like your hook on fishing i started my sons out with Zebco 33 its good all around lure u will have very few troubles with back lash its also simple to cast

The best kind of rod and reel you can get is by Shakespeare. make sure the kind of rod you get is an hideous stick they can with stand a lot of weight(in case you catch something else). when you're fish in for crappie I'd recommend those small squids with a super sharp hook so the fish will be caught even if the fish takes a bite on it. all of this can be bought at Dick's sporting goods for a reasonable price. Delight in

walmart will work a light weight spinning rod 4lbs test line
to start {get the fancy stuff later } apack of trout size hooks they say it on the pack a bober they sell a pack of sqeaz weight a pair of pliers a string line

all for about 30.00 bucks

oh take a camera for them fish storys

tight lines and catchem up

go to walmart and pick out your own

Please read and review this story (its not finsished)?

CANOE
I love the outdoors. everyone I know thinks I’m weird, everyone I know hates the outdoors, and in fact just about anyone hates the outdoors. The year is 2102 and a nice big forest is rarer than a four leaf clover. All anyone does is sit inside and shun themselves from the fantastic outdoors. I am different; I love everything and anything to do with the outdoors. my favorite thing is to canoe.
Just about anywhere you go, you can canoe. The world has been rapidly flooding itself over the last few years for reasons generally unknown. if you were to look at a current world map, you would see just about everything in blue spare for a few small islands. these few small islands that scatter the earth are some of the once were mighty mountain ranges including the Rockies and the Himalayas. these islands densely support what is left of the world population. There are virtually no animals left as we have ruined all of their homes. The world has become a terrible place to live for outdoorsmen like me.
The only forest I have ever been to has long since been ruined. I mistakenly wandered their as a young boy at age five. It was the most amazing place I have ever seen, wanted to live their just like the animals did in the tales I’ve heard of them, I still do not know why man has ruined one of the most beautiful things put on this earth. Mankind is the only species who takes more than needed, we are the only species who uses a system of currency, we are the only species with government, we are to smart for our own good. if we were just like any other animal and we didn’t desire so many things and take what was not ours, this would be a much better place to live. We do not need to ruin the homes of billions of animals; we do not need to do any of these things. I often wish that we were like the animals and we had simple homes in the forest and no desires for unnecessary objects. I wish we had a life of complete freedom without all the complication.
Since the flooding of the earth their have been some major changes. The most noticeable change is the transportation. any form of car and oddly enough any boat has become history when it comes to transportation. The only way anyone gets around anymore is by aircraft. Planes are the new car. everyone owns at least one and every kid is getting their license for one. I reckon I am correct in saying I own one of the last boats on this planet with my canoe.
Oil is almost completely gone from this planet. Oil makes kerosene. Planes run on kerosene. any day now we will be out of any kind of fuel. The world will shutdown when this happens, people don’t have the common sense to go out and walk anywhere, they rely on their planes. I will not be affected by this, I do not own a plane, my feet and my canoe take me to where I want to go. The whole world depends on their planes to get food, mail, to work. Everybody is going to be stranded without their planes. The world will end without oil.
Today I went out to a nice spot and paddled my canoe into the middle of cool waters. I brought my fishing pole with me; this is the one animal that has managed to thrive after the human’s reign of terror and destruction. The world is flooding after all so it’s only natural that the sea creatures would thrive. Fishing is simple and provides me with my main source of food. nobody gets their own food, they don’t hunt or fish or anything. they all take their planes to stores and get all the fake food they want. nobody eats food from animals anymore besides fish, there are no more animals to provide for us so all the food is fake. I caught three large bass today. I picked up my paddle and row my canoe back to shore. I return to my small home to cook my meal. I sit in my kitchen cleaning my bass with my ancient fashioned radio playing. my radio (which is considered a very ancient and outdated object to most people) is the most modern thing in my home. There are no radios shows, whatever new shows are on television are also broadcast to radios. I am not paying to much attention when I hear a loud statement; “Our oil is gone!” the speakers voice repeated it once more as he went into an in depth tale. The world was at a halt, for all but me.
It will take people a while to realize what had happened. they will go outside to their planes and glide somewhere until their fuel is gone. they will try to go to a refill station only to see that it is closed. Then people will realize that their fuel is really gone. People will be deserted in their homes with no way to get anywhere. they will eventually use all their resources and then they go hungry. People will starve to death.
This is how the world will end unless mankind can learn to survive.
While almost every other person on this planet is in a chaotic panic, I go about my day like any other. The most amazing thing is the way that people act like everything will be fixed. I see many people eating all the food they want thinking it will be replenished, they are incorrect. In just a week or two the effects of the disaster will really start to kick in. It will be interesting to see if people try to live. Will they just sit there not trying to sole the problem and slowly die? I will find out in soon enough.
It has been four days since the disaster. I took my canoe out to sea to fish. as I return to land with my catch, I see a man running toward me. The man has a large club; he is wildly swinging at it as he yells slurred curses at me. He strikes me in my stomach, I fall to the ground. The man picks up my fish and starts to run. I pick up my paddle and pursue him. I meet up with the man with a sharp jab to the back of his head with my paddle. He stumbles and turns around just in time for me to send another blow to his face. This time he is out cold. I suddenly feel bad for the man, I take one of my fish I caught and lay it on his chest for him to find later.
Apparently word of my actions has spread. The next day I have three people show up at my house requesting food. I gladly share with them not thinking of the consequences. The next day over twenty people came to me for food. I cannot share with all of these people. I told them that I would show them all to fish and even provide them with polls. This thought is not popular with them; the people do not want to work for their food. they want their food given to them. I can not fish for myself and an entire city, it is not possible.
The next few days I try my toughest to provide people with food. It is not an simple task, when people are given what is necessary for their survival they simply complain and want more. I am getting tired; I need a way to get these people to provide for themselves. I have a plan to go into hiding simply for one day and see if people respond. I wake up early one morning and get into my canoe. I paddle for hours off into the sea. At nightfall I do not know how many miles I have gone. I lean back in my seat, and sleep.
I wake at sunrise and I pick up my paddle to return home. as my home comes into view I see something odd. There are several buildings burning. Just one day of me gone and the whole town has turned crazy. I must stop this; I cannot be depended upon the whole town’s survival.

Eastern Kentucky Repeats as Open Champions

2011 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Open presented by Pepsi  It’s not often in a sport as competitive as collegiate bass fishing that a team wins back-to-back tournament titles; although that’s exactly what the Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) bass team accomplished today by winning the 2011 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Open presented by Pepsi for the second year in a row.

The unique format of the Open tournament allows each school club to send as many teams as they like, with each team consisting of up to six anglers and three boats. EKU claimed the Open title in 2010 when Tyler Moberly and Kyle Raymer competed as a single boat team. this year, Tyler and Kyle, along with teammates Jonas Ertel, John Smith, Matt Salmons and will Pope, fished as a three-boat team and combined their talents and knowledge of Kentucky Lake to successfully defend their Open title with a total weight of 42.73 pounds. Ertel and Moberly shared a boat and located several schools of suspended bass, catching over 100 per day, including about 50 small keepers. the pair also fished a spot that yielded some better quality bass using swimbaits. Although their teammates weren’t catching big numbers of bass, they succeeded in catching some bigger fish from ledges with worms and jigs that helped propel the team to victory. the EKU team wishes to thank J&J Marine, who repaired an electrical problem with one of the boats at no charge following the first day of competition. Starting the day in third place with 23.83 pounds, the University of North Carolina-Charlotte team amassed a tournament total of 41.27 pounds, which was excellent enough to claim second place. Teammates, Eric Self, Tyler Beam, Shane Lehew and Adam Waters shared three sweet spots located on main river ledges that produced approximately 100 bass, with most in the 2.5 pound size range. the majority of the bass the team brought to the scales were caught using a combination of Strike King 6XD crankbaits, 12” Berkley Power Worms and watermelon craw ER football jigs. Finishing in third place with a total weight of 39.45 pounds, the University of North Alabama bass team stayed close to Paris Landing Marina and maximized their fishing time. the team caught all their bass from three sweet spots. one is a 20-foot deep river ledge, another is a shell bed positioned on an island point and the third spot is a sharp point on a river ledge that drops from 10 to 19 feet and features heavy cover. a combination of football jigs and Carolina rigged soft plastics proved to be effective for tempting more than 150 bass to bite. the team clarified that they utilized their Lowrance HDS Structure Scan units to locate the fish and their HydroWave units to activate the schools of bass. David Lambert, representing the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, secured the Costa overall big bass and Berkley day one big bass awards for his team by landing a 9.49-pound lunker on a spot the team located during the Open event last year. the big bass was fooled with a Carolina rigged Berkley Power Worm and was positioned on a shell bed located on a river ledge that dropped from 13 to 15 feet. The University of Tennessee-Chattanooga team claimed the Berkley day two big bass awards when Robby Crosslin boated a 7.54-pound bass that was coaxed into biting a Carolina rigged Berkley Power Worm. Rounding out the top ten are: 4 Tennessee-Chattanooga 38.79 5 Northwest Shoals 37.88 6 Murray State 37.05 7 Austin Peay 36.95 8 Purdue 34.76 9 Tennessee-Martin 33.61 10 Louisville 33.28 The BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Series is sanctioned by the Association of Collegiate Anglers and will be televised on versus by Careco TV beginning July 31 at 2:00 pm CST. the weekly television series will showcase the 2011 series of tournaments, including the Collegiate Bass Fishing Open presented by Pepsi. The Series is sponsored by BoatUS, BoatUS Angler, Cabela’s, Sperry Top-Sider, Columbia Sportswear, frogg toggs, Lazer TroKar, Abu Garcia, Berkley, Costa, Ranger Boats, Onyx, HydroWave, Mountain Dew, Gemini Sport Marketing, big Bite Baits, Yamaha, Spro, PowerPole, Pepsi and Sunline. For those who disagree with protecting the environment?

What will you do when there is nothing left to protect? I live in a state in which every stream and lake is polluted. A company in a major City was given only a $1,000,000 fine for dumping toxic waste in a river that I used to like to fish in. hundreds of thousands of Carp, Catfish, Bass ect. where removed and the cleanup is still not complete. what would happen right now if the market crashed and we had to live off the land just like the old days? the fish are not fit to eat. and I'm sure alot of wildlife has been affected by our apathy towards our environment. Last summer some of the channel catfish we caught looked horrible! They looked like they where about to go belly up before we even got them onto the boat. I think a $1,000,000 fine is a joke to say the least! this buisiness should have been given a much harsher penalty.

The Goregelicans are industry's new best friend. Who has time to monitor dioxin ppm? Or the mercury and lead that seeps into the aquifers and watertables?

It's a regular benzene bash around outflow pipes cause' the EPA is being sent on a C02 quest.

What do they care? All they want to make sure of is that they can still drive their SUV all they want.

What would I do if the market crashed and we had to live off the land?

I would be rich (whatever the currency is) because I have a gun and know how to hunt. I'm sure the whiny liberals will have to exchange some kind of service to be fed.

I'm all for protecting the environment.
I don't support protecting the environment at any cost, no matter how trivial the benefits. Man can't exist without having an impact on the environment.
I don't support trying to protect the environment from a non-existent threat. Attempting to change nature isn't just wasteful, it's impossible.

Who doesn't want to protect the environment? You don't have to believe Al Gore's inconvenient lies in order to be Earth friendly.

No one disagrees with protecting the environment.
They just disagree with chicken little yelling were all going to die.

If you live in America, you don't know what pollution is. Try living in Manila, where the fish in the Pasig river died out in the 50s, and the depth of the garbage in the river bed is estimated in meters.

If Al Gore is preaching for America to clean up its act, he's probably the victim of a bad hooka pipe. America is one of the cleanest countries on the planet, due to standards that began over 100 years ago.

Look to China and India, young man. if you REALLY care about the environment, be honest with yourself.

Excellent question, Lets all focus on Global warming, but who cares about the pollution of our rivers, lakes, skys, land. the pollution your talking about is real and confirmed to be caused by industry. global warming is a maybe senario at best, did you know that these are the same scientist that were screaming about dangers of global cooling in the 1970's. They need to start going after problems that really exist.

This is exactly why I've been green and promoting green for quite some time.

Every action either has a reward or a consequence. Right now, we're on a steep and steady road of consequence if we don't change now. this is more than just rivers and lakes and streams polluted. this is going to have a huge effect on the way people can work and the way people can live.

But, we're not at the point of no return… yet. if we do something now, we can change things around.

Sashimi poisening/ allergy?

Some 2 month ago I start consuming sashimi like crazy,
to the point that I buy it in pounds from different sources,
Checking out all kinds, even Chilean bass, you just name it.
To make long story small, 3 weeks ago my hands got swollon and some itchy rash.
It got worse to the point that you cant ignore and almost am trying to pill my own skin… (it also get hitted)
It went from worse to bed and fine daily.
I wasn’t aware fish can cause that, (still not sure 100% that is the reason)
When I went to the Doc gave me Steroids shot. I think it helped. but it came back today is hell again… legs, arm pits , hands, ribs… all red and crazy itchy.
I was searching online but couldn’t find any solid complete article about the subject….

What is the rash have to do with fish ?
I was never allergic to anything before….

and most importent….
Is there any treatment ?
Do you have any idea how long it takes the body to recover if at all ?
Any link to a serious article about the subject ???

Seafood allergies are really quite common. If you're still having flare-ups, you need to go back to your doctor, though. Allergic reactions can be life-threatening.

Stop eating raw fish.

Tell me the complete information about the bass fishing…Then tell me the place about bass fishing…..

Bass fishing is a common sport in which anglers use either live or fake lures/bait to catch different types of Bass. there are many different types of bass, including Largemouth, Smallmouth, Redeye, Spotted, Yellow, White and Striped. The most sought after fish is the Largemouth because they can grow to fantastic lengths. Bass are usually found in weedy swampy parts of lakes, and rivers, and occasionaly in marsh's. Since most bass have large mouths, they eat pretty much anything, although the best lures are crankbaits, worms, nightcrawlers and spinners. Bass usually attack in schools, and some of the larger fish can be found in under one foot of water.

there are libraries full of information on bass fishing. they are still incomplete.
and there is brilliant bass fishing in all the states with the possible exception of alaska.

bass are mainly a warmwater fish but there are other species in the bass family that live in the ocean…and bass live nearly evrywhere

Sure, gotta a few years to listen? ~excellent luck catchin'.

its fishing….for a fish called a bass (: lol

its what people fish for when they cant catch trout

Can the Win98 registry be restored from the command prompt?

Hi everyone. I go through this all the time when I question a Win98 question. It's a garage machine, that I don't have a legal copy of anything else for.

I installed an ancient game – Bass Masters Fishing – and when I went to reboot I got the ancient VxD error "You must run Windows Setup". Safe Mode doesn't work, Normal boot doesn't work, line-by-line confirmation doesn't work.

I have the registry prior to the install backed up and I can get the CDROM to work. is there a way to restore the registry from the command prompt?

I did not save win.ini and system.ini, but in the future I will. I was going to try to restore the registry – if possible – before I do a complete reinstall.

Thanks!

NO. Only a complete Format of the Hard Drive can repair the registry to factory fresh.
